Project Overview

This project focused on the installation of a wet pour EPDM rubber safety surface within a secure, enclosed outdoor recreational space. The original surface was improved to create a safer, more resilient, and visually appealing area designed to accommodate regular public use. The client required a robust, low-maintenance solution that delivered effective impact absorption, enhanced the overall look of the space, and met current safety requirements for community and recreational facilities. Our aim was to provide a high-performance surface capable of maintaining its integrity under constant foot traffic and changing weather conditions.

Scope of Work

Works began with detailed preparation of the area to form a sound, even base suitable for the wet pour system. Care was taken to achieve accurate levels, appropriate surface falls, and clean edge transitions, ensuring the finished surfacing integrated smoothly with surrounding fencing, features, and drainage. All activities were carried out within the enclosed site to maintain safety and reduce any impact on nearby areas.

Following preparation, the EPDM rubber material was mixed on site and applied directly to the prepared base. The surface was then hand-finished to achieve a seamless, uniform appearance with consistent depth and colour throughout. Particular attention was given to finishing around access points and perimeter edges, resulting in a clean, professional appearance and improved long-term performance.

The completed installation now offers a durable, slip-resistant, and impact-absorbing surface ideally suited to recreational environments. The transformed area provides a modern, safe, and attractive space that requires minimal maintenance while delivering long-lasting performance.
