Project Overview

This project involved the installation of new tarmac surfacing to form a durable access road and external hardstanding area within an industrial setting. The existing ground was upgraded to create a smooth, hard-wearing surface capable of accommodating regular vehicle traffic, service access, and pedestrian movement. The client required a robust, low-maintenance solution that would improve site accessibility while delivering a tidy, professional finish suitable for daily operations and varying weather conditions.

Scope of Work

The works began with comprehensive site preparation to establish a stable and well-compacted base ready for surfacing. Precise attention was given to setting correct levels, falls, and drainage to ensure effective water run-off and long-term surface performance. Concrete kerbs were installed to clearly define the roadway edges, provide structural restraint, and achieve a clean, consistent appearance throughout the site.

Once preparation works were completed, hot-laid tarmac was machine-laid and rolled using specialist equipment to create a smooth, even finish. The surface was compacted to a uniform thickness across the entire access route, with careful detailing around edges, transitions, and service areas to ensure durability and a high standard of workmanship.
